1st call: GEOSTAT 2009 Summer School “Spatio-temporal data analysis with R + SAGA + Google Earth”
GEOSTAT 2009 Summer School
3 – 10 May 2009
Mediterranean Institute For Life Sciences (MEDILS), Split, Croatia

The GEOSTAT 2009 Summer School is 5-day training course/workshop intended for PhD young professionals working in various project teams. The basic idea of this summer school is to promote use of open source tools for the analysis of spatio-temporal data. The course aims at providing a balanced combination of theoretical and hands-on-software (R+open source GIS) training, and includes a one-day workshop where each participant can present his/her case study and receive feedback
Dead-line to register: 15th March 2009
Computational Mass Spectrometry-Based Proteomics
Quantitative proteomics applied to life sciences system biology
June 27.-July 2. 2009.
The Summer School will provide hands-on training in computational analysis of proteomics data generated by high-resolution mass spectrometry. This powerful technology is increasingly applied to systems-wide investigation of different aspects of cell biology. The practical part will enable participants to perform sophisticated quantitative data analysis in their own future research using the publicly available MaxQuant software (Cox and Mann, Nature Biotechnology,Dec 2008).

Computational Mass Spectrometry-Based Proteomics
Quantitative proteomics applied to life sciences system biology
June 27.-July 2. 2009.
EMBO Practical Course on ubiquitin and SUMO
The objective of this course is to teach a wide range of state of the art methods for the in vitro and in vivo functional analysis of ubiquitylation and sumoylation.
FEBS Practical Course on Protein interaction modules
The course is aimed at students and postdocs involved in analyses of protein-protein interactions and formation of large protein complexes in cells. There is an increasing awareness of the importance of specific recognitions of post-translational modifications in regulating variety of biological processes from the plasma membrane to the nucleus.
